Description:

Mature males are pale pruinose blue, females have large yellowish spots on the thorax and yellow stripes on the sides of the abdomen. Both sexes usually show an amber streak along the leading edge of the wing.


Spangled Skimmer is similar but has flashy black and white stigmas.



Conservation Status:
State: S4 Apparently secure in New Jersey
Global: G5 Secure globally, but possibly rare in parts of its range
