Description:

A little red bug with black triangles down the sides of the abdomen and a dirty face. Not identifiable in the field in New Jersey, click here for a discussion of this complex.

We consider this critter to be a race or form of Cherry-faced Meadowhawk although a few consider it a separate species, Jane's Meadowhawk. It is not included in the official NJ checklist total, although we display it here since it is the commonest of this complex throughout New Jersey.
